In less than 5 years, Taylor Swift will be running this country

I know imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And it’s a real ego boost that my little blog has reached some of the highest levels of power.

All the same, I’d prefer that if the Speaker of the House is going to rip off my shtick that he do a better job of it.

My heartfelt condolences to the intern in John Boehner’s office who had to write this.

Revisiting Taylor Swift with a look at her new single “Blank Space”

Taylor Swift has a new song out, so it’s time to revisit the delightful madness she exhibits.

Last time, we reviewed “Shake It Off” which we determined was a monstrosity of a song that transcended time and space to be the inspiration for every terrible song that came before it.

This time we look at “Blank Space” though I can’t give you another 1,500 words on it. It still bears investigation.

Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off”: The Platonic Ideal of a Terrible Pop Song?

A few weeks ago, a song came on the radio I hadn’t heard. It was terrible, but really catchy.

I found out later that it was, as you may have guessed based on the title of this article, Taylor Swift’s new opus, “Shake It Off”.

I have heard it many more times since then, and it has wormed its way deep into my brain. So let’s take a deep look at it, and possibly exorcise it from me in the process. Continue reading
